Privacy policy for my short message channel on Twitter  (https://twitter.com/rosenschnitzer)

(as of May 2021)

This privacy statement provides information about my use of the short messaging service and technical platform Twitter (offered by Twitter Inc.,1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA).

I point out that you use the Twitter short message service offered on my profile and its functions on your own responsibility. This applies in particular to the use of the interactive functions (e.g. sharing, rating or direct messaging between me and you).

The data collected about you when using the service is processed by Twitter Inc. and may be transferred to countries outside the European Union. This includes, among other things, your IP address, the app you use, information about the terminal device you use (including device ID and app ID), information about websites you have visited, your location and your mobile provider. This data is assigned to the data of your Twitter account or your Twitter profile.

I myself, as the operator of my own Twitter profile, also collect and process, for example, the following data from your use of the short message service when you are on my profile:
  • Likes, retweets (with or without quote attribution) and comments on my profile, or on activities I engage with on other profiles, each with date, time and name of your own Twitter account
  • Content from direct messages, also with date, time and name of your own Twitter account

My social media presence on Twitter is not exclusively of a professional nature, as I sometimes also express myself privately there. Nevertheless, the account there should ensure me a presence on the internet as comprehensive as possible. The purpose of the processing is the primarily private interaction with others, but also in professional terms, for example, the presentation of my work and the establishment of contacts. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Please also see here in my privacy policy on my website section 5 (Data processing for the handling of sales and other inquiries). The analysis processes initiated by Twitter may be based on different legal grounds, which are to be specified by the operator of this social network (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR).

I expressly point out that when you engage in activities via my Twitter profile, Twitter's terms of use and privacy policy apply.

Twitter's Terms of Service (ToS) can be found here:    https://twitter.com/en/tos

If you visit my Twitter account, I am jointly responsible with the operator of this social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. In principle, you can assert your rights (information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against me and against Twitter.

Please note that despite the joint responsibility with this social media portal operator, I do not have full influence on the data processing operations there. In particular, I have no influence on the type and scope of the data processed by Twitter, the type of processing and use or the transfer of this data to third parties. My options are largely determined by the corporate policy of Twitter.

For Twitter, the data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details regarding Twitter's third country transfer can be found here:    https://gdpr.twitter.com/en/controller-to-controller-transfers.html

There is also the option to view your own data at Twitter:

You have options for restricting the processing of your data in the general settings of your Twitter account and under "Privacy and security". In addition, you can restrict Twitter's access to contact and calendar data, photos, location data, etc. on mobile devices (smartphones, tablet computers) in the settings options there. However, this depends on the operating system used.
