Katana "Dragon"

Katana "Dragon"

A custom made workpiece for a former colleague who wanted to give it to her husband. A challenging job, because I first had to learn how to wrap the Katana handle (Tsuka) ;)

Maple wood with carved bone elements. The handle wrap is made of silk.

Fire sword with eye 1

Fire sword with eye 1

This mighty sword was held by a "sleeping" vampire lady in a dungeon crypt. My RPG character picked it up as loot - but then the eye opened...it overtook him, making him attack the rest of the party! A memorable roleplaying session captured as art piece.

Carved hardwood, the eye is a moss agate, plus some other semi-precious stones and carved bone on the parry bar.

The adventure begins

The adventure begins

The Fellowship of the Ring sets out to enter the halls of Moria. A dice tray with the Gandalf quote "Oh, it is simple. If you are a friend, speak the password and the doors will open." For all LotR fans who want to roll their dice in an atmospheric setting.

Carved from a solid slice of oak, motifs burned. Polished up to 1500 grain sandpaper, oiled and waxed.

Silent heroism

Silent heroism

Hasn't everyone felt a sense of powerlessness, of not being able to make a change for the better in a big world gone mad? Frodo and Sam prove otherwise. Galadriel's quote "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future" shows that through perseverance and loyalty, even the smallest can make a big impact. Stand together, community!

Carved from a solid oak slice. Motifs burned, sanded up to 1500 grain sandpaper, oiled, waxed.

Dangerous beauty

Dangerous beauty

A commissioned work, where the requirement was to form a weapon from a plain combat knife (Coldsteel Tigerclaw), that combines functionality with beauty. After removing all plastic parts, the handle and scabbard were rebuilt in a new form from wood, bone and horn and set with semi-precious stones.

Mahogany, horn, bone and tiger's eye. Polished up to 2000 grain sandpaper, oiled and waxed.

The game master

The game master

Doesn't your GM sometimes seem like a dragon on his treasure to you? Old, wise and brooding about how he's going to get his group next? With the power of the die showing the 1 at the wrong moment? A gift for a first class GM and dear friend who has a considerable head of hair to tame.

Carved from birch wood, shaded with pyrography, polished and oiled.

Mjölnir

Mjölnir

The hammer is an interpretation of the weapon Mjölnir of the Marvel character of the thunder god Thor from the film of the same name. This commissioned work was supposed to be a gift for a friend of the client. But it turned out quite differently. The client liked it so much that he kept it for himself and instead ordered Stormbreaker, a second weapon of this film character. See for yourself!

Handcrafted as a real hammer. The handle is carved in a spiral and wound with leather and silver wire. The engraved runes say "He who wields this hammer commands the lightning and the storm". Cherry wood, leather, silver wire. Polished to 1500 grit sandpaper, oiled and waxed.

Stormbreaker

Stormbreaker

The follow-up job after Mjölnir. It began with the succinct sentence: Make me Thor's hammer again. It should not be exactly like the first one, but you should see that it is by the same artist. A variation of the first? Urgs, no. So it became Stormbreaker, Thor's second weapon after his sister destroyed Mjölnir. In the Marvel movie, the hammerhead was forged from metal, but lacked a handle. So it happened that the tree creature Groot gave up an arm that could be used for it. For this reason, the handle was made out of a board imitating a branch bearing blossoms. The claim: combine a deadly weapon with natural beauty. Did it succeed? See for yourself.

Hand-carved, hand-joined hammer axe made of cherry. To represent the lightning storm, the runes, branch fibres and socket were coloured with silver paste. Sanded with 2000 grit sandpaper, oiled, waxed.

The Twin or You are not alone 1

The Twin or You are not alone 1

I designed this ring with the two mythical creatures, half snake and half woman, guarding an egg in their midst, to cheer up a member of our role-playing group who was not well due to the Corona restrictions. It says that we are all connected, so we are never alone. Just as the ring as a circle forms a stable shape, we can also draw strength from this connection with each other.

Carved from bone, polished, oiled. The egg was made from a chrysocolla.

When I grew up, I always wanted to become a sea serpent and sail along at the stern of one of our dragon boats, when the Vikings set off on voyages of discovery and plunder. Then I was told I was too pretty, not fearsome enough, and better to stay home - but I still found something I'm good at! I now adorn this wonderful spoon and get, if not into the sea, then at least into the soup!

Birch wood hand carved, oiled, waxed.
